#QuitStrong.

Giving up smoking can be an isolating journey. Quitters face a constant battle: their inner voice telling them they’ll never quit; it’s too hard; I can’t do it alone.

These voices of doubt were overpowered with new voices: those of whānau, friends, loved ones, who all voiced the support that quitters needed to hear but often didn’t. Helping them to quit hard, quit smarter, and #QuitStrong.

Tapping into the communities around those quitting, #QuitStrong uses friends and whānau as a channel of support and empowerment. To launch it, we found people in community groups, clubs and gyms. They filmed messages of support for loved ones on their own quitting journey – and played them on TV and over social. Fuelling the motivation to keep up the quit with the love and big-ups of those most important to them.

These messages of support inspired the communities around other quitters to rally behind their own loved ones – tagging, inspiring and motivating friends and whānau over social with personal messages of support, to help them #QuitStrong.
