We showed Wellington residents and visitors just how lucky they are to be able to get up close and personal with the local wildlife in our launch campaign for Wellington Zoo’s newest precinct, Meet the Locals He Tuku Aroha.
The campaign had a tight budget so we chose radio for its reach and cost effectiveness. Our in-house sound suite Flare produced a collection of curious little radio fables that were accompanied by a trio of Wasgij-style posters illustrated by South African artist Jean-Pierre Le Roux of Arcade Studios.
The ads were so entertaining that stations agreed to a 75 second spot rather than the usual 60 or 30 seconds. Meet the Locals had a successful opening weekend that contributed to an increase in visitor numbers for 2015.
